A trip we will be talking about for years. Our guide went above and beyond to make sure everyone in the group was comfortable. A particular highlight for us was khumjung village - the largest traditional Sherpa village above Namche, built around Edmund Hillary's first major construction project in Nepal (the Khumjung School, 1961); the village's gompa houses what is claimed to be a Yeti scalp; the local community is one of the most authentically Sherpa-traditional accessible from the main trekking route.
